Original Oil Paintings I've Done

This lion painting was donated to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in 2019 to raise money for lion conservation on World Lion Day.

Conservation work comes in many forms and I find art a great way to connect people with the beauty of the natural world and the species who inhabit it.
I typically paint species all over the world, but haven't given much love to North American wildlife. Conservation is important worldwide and the United States has countless unique species. To honor one, I painted an osprey in flight using oil as my medium.
Ospreys are a great example of conservation success in action. Like the peregrine falcon, pesticides and chemicals such as DDT thinned their eggs and killed many birds during the '50s and '60s. Banning these substances allowed for recovery of the species.
